Re-appropriated objects and Childhood memories.
When I was young my mom and I used to make houses in the woods for gnomes. I was hiking in Rumney with Kyler and came across a perfect spot for a gnome home. Just a quick little shack really. Love you Mom.

“Gnome Home” got sent to my mother, of all people! Here is her fantastic response:
This is the first gnome home I have found in the Rocky Mountains.
The first picture was taken when the gnomes were out and about doing what gnomes and fairies do. When I came back later and took a second photo they had obviously returned home. The hay was there for their pony and there was food in the hanging basket for their supper. I wish I was a better photographer to better capture the scene. I will keep trying.
I believe that the picture of the White Mountain gnome home that arrived in the mail today from my daughter Emily concurs with the notion that gnome homes everywhere hold to the inherent integrity of the gnome and fairy culture.
It is their belief and essential being which nurtures the natural beauty that is so subtly apparent in every moment of every day and which is always surrounding us.
I look forward to more encounters.
